We are pleased to present Austin Thomas as our most recent edition.

Austin is well known as a leading light in the idea of social practices as it is concerned to her work. In developing her perches as well as the artspace/art work known as Pocket Utopia, Austin has been highly influential in transforming the lives of artists and art communities with her open and approachable artworks and thought processes. Suffice it to say, we are big fans of hers at 246 Editions.

From installations in galleries to installations in a Chevrolet El Camino, the work we are presenting today is a little on the smaller side. Measuring a little over 5 inches square it is presented in one size only on 8.5 x 11 on Hahnemule fine arts paper, in an edition of 100.

Austins work has been exhibited nationally. Recent venues include: Kris Graves Projects, Pocket Utopia (Bushwick, Brooklyn), Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum (California), The Corcoran Gallery of Art (Washington DC) and is in the collection of the Corcoran as well.

Austin lives in New York City.
